(This session has concluded. The presentation slides and video recording are available on this session page.)

OpenAthens provides platform level access statistics in almost real time. When these statistics are paired with attributes from your institution’s identity provider (IdP), OpenAthens becomes a powerful assessment tool, providing libraries with a means to gauge their contribution to student success and to discover more about how resources are used.

This information can help libraries to better target outreach, instruction, and collection development.

In this session, we will review some basic OpenAthens terminology, present an overview of OpenAthens statistics and reporting, and offer guidance on how librarians can better communicate with institutional IT and Infosec staff about attribute release policies.
